This program works with the City of Lorain, Lorain Public Schools and the Employment Training Administration to paint homes for low-income residents. We have painted more than 30 homes in the past 6 years.
Homeownership Training Program (HOT)
In conjunction with Lorain County Community Action Agency, the SLCDC Provides training that prepares families for homeownership. Through certification, folks may qualify for special mortgage loans and/or down payment assistance.
The SLCDC and LCCAA have received funding from the Ohio Housing Trust Fund to award Down Payment Assistance Funds of up to $3,000.00 to first time homebuyers. In order to receive the funds, families must meet income guidelines set by the state and must complete our HOT program.
