(Return to the sailing adventures of La Boatique)
A New Zealand America's Cup yacht sails toward Auckland. Would I be able to safely make the trip from Opua to Auckland aboard La Boatique without Pete?
I am at the helm of La Boatique, without Pete.
The Optimist Pram race in Opua, New Zealand. I am in the boat furthest to the right.
It was nice to have crew so that I could take time to enjoy the view of Hole in the Rock, Bay of Islands, New Zealand.
David Mair and the snapper he caught.
La Boatique gets loaded aboard Dockwise Yacht Transfer ship Dockwise 12. The water around the boats was drained away before Dockwise 12 departed for Florida.
Julie Dobbs hosted a Thanksgiving dinner. I am sitting next to Julie. Julie is holding her dog, Scruffy.
New Zealand has installed picture frames in many parks. They know all to well that they live in paradise. The white dots on the hill behind me are, of course, sheep.
The blond girl is staring down this peacock at the Shapespear Regional Park.
Kite surfing is very popular in New Zealand. It looks to me like a combination of kite flying, wind surfing, and water skiing.
I touched the Tasman Sea. La Boatique did not.
The Tasman Sea separates New Zealand and Austrailia. If we would have continued west with La Boatique we would have entered this sea. Instead, La Boatique headed east back toward the U.S.A.
